Forge Motorsport Spring Tuning Kit for Turbo Actuator

Now you can fine tune your turbo actuator to the exact needs of your engine with this complete tuning kit.

In your actuator tuning kit, you will find four or five springs (dependent on your actuator) and the associated spring retainer. The strongest spring is the red, followed by the blue, yellow and finally the green which is the weakest.

Please select from the options above if you require this kit for a type 048 or 049 actuator. The 048 actuators are those with a big body, the 049 actuators are those with a standard size body.

Piston 049 actuators and diaphragm 049 actuators use the same springs. 

The spring colour codes and their running pressures are as listed below.

T2 049 (Small) Actuator Springs (Both Piston and Diaphragm Type 049):
Green –  running pressure 10 psi (0.7 bar) – spool up/opening pressure 5 psi (0.35 bar)
Purple – running pressure 13 psi (0.9 bar) – spool up/opening pressure 7 psi (0.5 bar)
Yellow – running pressure 15 psi (1.0 bar) – spool up/running pressure 9 psi (0.6 bar)
Blue – running pressure 18 psi (1.2 bar) – spool up/running pressure 14 psi (0.95 bar)
Red – running pressure 20 psi (1.4 bar) – spool up/running pressure 17 psi (1.1 bar)

T3 048 (Big) Actuator Springs:
Green – 10 psi (0.7 bar)
Yellow – 12.5 psi (0.9 bar)
Blue – 17 psi (1.2 bar)
Red – 18 psi (1.3 bar)

Forge normally supply their actuators, unless requested differently, with a spring that will match the tension of the manufacturer’s original fitment valve. However, as many owners undertake tuning modifications some may wish to re-tune the actuator characteristics to suit a given application.

These kits are NOT suitable for Diesel actuator for Garrett VNT turbos.
