FUJI Racing Oil Separator Cover & Piston Pin Cover Kit – Subaru
THE SEPARATOR COVER
The FUJI Racing oil separator plate is the perfect addition when rebuilding your EJ Series engine or when installing a new clutch and flywheel.
The oil separator plate is located on the rear of the engine block and can be seen when the gearbox / bell housing is removed.
Many Subaru EJ boxer engines were fitted with a plastic separator plate from factory (which over time tend to leak due to fatigue caused by age and heat cycles). Later on in the EJ’s history presumably Subaru realised the problem and switched to a thin pressed cover as a more reliable alternative.
The FUJI Racing oil separator plate is based on a very early design that Subaru initially produced which featured a far thicker wall of material, allowing a more uniformed pressure to be applied across the sealing face providing a leak free solution for years to come.
THE PIN COVER
A simple but beautifully made product, the piston pin cover plate is a direct replacement for the factory part and can be found located at the rear of the engine block (opposite to where the gearbox bell housing locates).
Its function is to allow access to the inside of the engine to remove the piston gudgeon pins and when not needed is permanently sealed.
As EJ engines age, both the piston pin cover plate and the oil separator plate (also located in a similar area) can start to weep oil and in some cases leak considerably.
The Fuji replacement pin cover plate is supplied with new counter sunk screws and a replacement o-ring seal to provide the perfect seal for many more years to come.

NOTE: Fuji recommend using thread lock on the end of each bolt to provide a secure seal.
